Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) combines a strong magnetic field, radio waves and a computer to produce high-resolution, cross-sectional images of internal organs and tissues. The exam is painless, non-invasive and free of radiation. MRI’s ability to distinguish differences in tissue composition, makes it the modality of choice in imaging the central nervous system and a variety of soft tissue structures.

At CCIC, our Siemens Symphony 1.5T MRI will provide you with a timely and comfortable MRI experience. Above all, this high-field, short bore, and flared opening scanner produces clear and detailed images.

Postitron Emission Tomography (PET) uses radioactive molecules to image and analyze various diseases and disorders. PET/CT is the fusion of PET and CT technologies, giving the physician simultaneous metabolic and anatomic information.

PET/CT in Oncology
Whole Body PET/CT Imaging with FDG uses a glucose tracer to target malignant cells within any tissue. Skeletal PET/CT Imaging with NaF specifically targets bone malignancy and disease. Both exams provide accurate information for diagnosing the presence and extent of disease, as well as for monitoring therapy.

Axumin (Fluciclovine F-18) PET for prostate cancer patients with evidence of a biochmical recurrance after surgery or radiation therapy.

Netspot (Gallium Ga-68 dotatate) PET for localization of somatostatin receptor positive neuroendocrine tumors.

PET/CT in Neurology
This imaging study is very useful in Neurology because it can assist in the diagnosis of Alzheimer’s Disease and other neurodegenerative disorders.

Computed Tomography (CT) often called a “CAT” scan, is a system that uses special x-ray equipment to obtain image data and with sophisticated computer processing shows a cross-section of body tissues and organs. Because CT is capable of providing detailed, cross-sectional views of all types of tissue, it is an invaluable tool in studying the chest and abdomen, and is often the preferred method for diagnosing many different cancers.

Our CT machine is equipped with a Siemens state-of-the-art, multi-slice, large bore, spiral scanner, that can image entire anatomic regions with speed and comfort.
